What Ducto is
Ducto is a software platform and online marketplace operated by Ducto Systems Inc. It helps you size a ductless heat pump, buy equipment, and contract with independent, licensed installers.
Ducto does not perform construction, mechanical or electrical work, and is not a contractor. Installation work is performed by the independent installer you choose, under a separate installation contract between you and that installer.
Your order has three parts
Equipment: Ducto sells the equipment to you as a retailer and arranges shipping from a supplier. Sales tax is collected at the rate for your address.
Installation: a contract between you and the installer named at checkout, at the price the installer sets. It includes permit fees the installer pays on your behalf. Your card is charged for it when the installer confirms, on the installer's behalf.
Ducto fee: a design and platform fee for sizing, price transparency, payment protection and support.
Sizing
Ducto's sizing is an estimate based on the information you provide. It is not an ACCA Manual J load calculation. Your installer confirms the system on site. Any change to scope or price requires your approval first.
Payment protection
Installer payments are held and released in stages. Each stage is released after you approve the work or 3 days after the installer submits it if you don't respond. Permit fee reimbursements are released when the installer uploads the issued permit.
If the installer you chose can't take the job, Ducto may send it to another qualified installer at the same or a lower price.
If an installer arrives and can't proceed because of a condition at your home, a trip fee of up to $150 may be paid to the installer from your installation payment.
Cancelling
Before an installer confirms your job, you may cancel from your project page for a full refund of everything you paid.
After an installer confirms, your installation contract's cancellation terms apply, along with any right to cancel that your state's law gives you. Equipment that has shipped may be returned under the supplier's return terms.
Your responsibilities
If you choose a DIY or Hybrid option, you're responsible for the work assigned to you and for doing it as described in the equipment's installation manual. Refrigerant and electrical work is always assigned to a credentialed professional.
You agree to provide safe access to the home on the scheduled date.
Warranties
Equipment warranties are provided by the manufacturer. Some manufacturers require licensed installation for full coverage. Workmanship warranties are provided by your installer.
